back from 2 weeks on Madeline Island in Lake Superior - 5 shows in 10 days! One of the most fun venues on the island was Tom's Burned Down Cafe. What do you do with a burned down cafe on the island? Turn it into an open air bar and music venue! I even brought my trusty black lab and travelling companion, Cocoa. She hung out with me at the gigs, swam in the lake, and generally soaked up all the attention. I also got to go sailing with my good buddy Norm Castle. He was a North American sailing champion and raced at the Olympic level, so needless to say . . . we went very fast! I've already been asked back to perform for next year, so looking forward to that one!

Maybe the coolest invitation ever . . . to perform for my daughter's wedding right before I walk her down the aisle! Powell Gardens on a beautiful summer evening, and an even more beautiful bride. Congratulations to Ken and Lauren Millman!!

In rehearsals with my trio for upcoming shows at Mike Kelly's Westsider, Jerry's Bait Shop, and more shows for the Plaza Concert Series this summer! We'll be doing my original stuff, along with songs by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Keys, Foo Fighters, Jeff Beck, Ed Sheeran, Bob Marley, Stone Temple Pilots, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steely Dan, John Mayer, Jack White, and many more . .

thanks to the folks at 3rd Fridays in Overland Park for inviting me to perform at the KC Culinary Center - temperatures in the 70's brought out lots of people for a jam-packed evening!

just got back from 11 days on Madeline Island, Lake Superior! With multiple solo performances at Tom's Burned Down Cafe (voted one of America's top ten beach bars by Travel & Leisure), as well as the Beach Club (another awesome outdoor venue on the island). Both have already asked me back for next year . . special thanks to my good buddy, Norm Castle, who provided me a great place to stay and good company . . . you're gettin' onstage with me next year!

Looks like spring has sprung, with outdoor performances popping up on the calendar in the coming months! I've already got dates for the trio for the Plaza Live Series in June and September as well as plenty of solo performances, with more dates coming. See you soon!

After having semi-emergency surgery on Christmas Eve for a varicosele gone bad (hernia-like condition), I am recuperating and doing fine . . . I've been given the green-light by doctors to resume lifting small pickup trucks . . . ok maybe not quite that much
In the meantime, my music technology touring programs have been selected for the Kansas State Touring Roster and the Mid-America Arts Alliance Regional Touring Program. I am eligible to receive matching funds for performances in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas!
I'm in the process of composing new music, finding new sponsors, and booking shows like crazy . . hope to see you at one of them!

The PLAZA ART FAIR has invited me back for a solo performance on their acoustic stage for Sunday, Sept 22 - 3:30 to 5:00! I'll be doing some covers, but a lot more original stuff!
gettin' ready for the KS STATE FAIR! I'll be performing on the Gottschalk Gazebo, Bretz Arena, and Lake Talbott stages during the fair and also for the after-parties at the Beer Garden Friday night immediately after Theory of a Deadman and Saturday night immediately after Lynrd Skynrd!

Whirlwind summer! Just got back from 5 days on Madeline Island in Lake Superior . . . I did back to back performances on Thursday and Friday and then got an invite from the locals to perform at their secret island party outside town - complete with lighted stage and sound system!

Hello!
I'm in the editing stage for the new CD! (sound of loud cheering). . . but before you get too excited, it's mostly classical music (crickets) . . Ha!
"Classical Guitar Masterworks" will feature music on the nylon string classic, or spanish guitar, as some like to call it, and have selections from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods by composers such as Bach, Tarrega, Weiss, Dowland, although I did sneak in one by Randy Rhoads.
I was able to record these pieces on the awesome Alvarez classical nylon string guitar given to me by the folks at Alvarez with some great stereo microphones (thanks to Norm Castle at Free Fall Studio).

Hello everyone, and welcome to to my new website . . . my new year's resolution! Although still under construction, I hope to eventually have a lot more content here: performances, video, new songs, lesson material, stuff to buy, etc. Check back from time to time and you'll find changes coming. Also, let me know if there's stuff you'd like to see here.
December 2012 was an exceptional month; between "GUITAR MADNESS" performances, music technology school programs, and working with the Water's Edge Band, there were 18 appearances in 31 days! That's got to be a record! I am very blessed to have these opportunities.
I am also looking forward to 2013, as it already looks to be a busy year as well. Stay tuned for news and announcements . . .
